Introduction to EMDR with Crystal Whitlow, LCSW

April 24, 2020 12:30-1:30 pm

Crystal Whitlow is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and EMDR Certified therapist, basic trainer and EMDRIA Approved EMDR Consultant. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an 8-phase model of psychotherapy that helps with difficult memories, feelings, and thoughts. EMDR utilizes bilateral stimulation to assist in reprocessing and helping the client move toward adaptive mental health."

Participants will learn

 

  • the 8 phases of EMDR therapy,

  • a preparation skill for EMDR,

  • discuss the basic neurobiology underlying the model and

  • observe a demonstration with an audience volunteer.


This event is designed for beginning and mid- level practitioners. This education event qualifies for one category 1 ceu.

Maternal Mental Health Symposium

May 8, 2020 11:45 am- 4:30 pm

Nationally recognized experts will present on maternal mental health and the devastating impact of Racism and Trauma on maternal health. Additional presentations will discuss treatment consideratons during pregnancy and an introduction to an evidenced based program for home visitors to prevent postpartum depression.

This event qualifies for three Category 1 continuing education units for licensed social workers, mental health counselors and marriage and family therapists in the state of Indiana.

This event qualifies for 3 hours toward Perinatal Mood Disorder Certification thru Postpartum Support International.
